Hawaii State INBRE

Committees

The Steering Committee will establish and monitor the overall INBRE policies and operating procedures. This will include oversight of workshop and seminar offerings as well as annual review of mentoring activities. In this capacity, the Steering Committee will work closely with the Administrative Core staff as they chart INBRE’s progress towards meeting the specific aims. The Committee will also meet annually with the independent evaluators to discuss their formal assessment of INBRE’s activities.

The External Advisory Committee, composed of experts representing the scientific themes, will advise the Steering Committee on scientific and administrative matters. They will monitor junior investigator progress and the effectiveness of the faculty-faculty and faculty-student mentoring programs. Particular attention will center on the development of competitive research prowess among the collaborating investigators.
